Rose Evenson

This painting is a recent creation that I made while attending a watercolor workshop. The wildflowers were painted by utilizing a technique that creates a layered look.  The flowers are white (attempting to create a negative look), while the leaves, and other foliage are painted various colors to achieve this effect.

I was working with trying to capture the beauty of nature, that I witnessed while taking a walk with my family during a trip to Laguna Beach in California.  We came upon a cove with colorful sand and shells that I tried to recreate in my own way, as a memento of my time spent there.
